Miss SA Campus 2003 Winners Chosen !!!

The winner of the SA Miss Campus 2003 beauty pageant was chosen at an event filled evening held at the Oval Entertainment Area in the Mall last Friday evening 11July 2003.  East Rand Mall , Model Management and Vroue Keur, the co-hosts of the pageant are proud to announce that :
Miss S.A. Campus for 2003 is Maria Brindley (RAU)
The 1st Princess is Sarette Schutte (Maties)
The 2nd Princess is Anna di Donato. (WITS)

Maria who hails from Rand Afrikaans University will now compete in  the Miss World University Pageant, to  be held in Korea later this year.

The show was screened on Kwela, (kykNET)  this past  Wed, 16 July. Check your DSTV for possible re-broadcasting of Kwela. Also making an appearance was the popular boy-band Eden . The MC for the event was Paul Rothmann from SABC 2's  Pasella,

Miss S.A Campus 2004 Final report back.

The Miss SA Campus 2004 Finale was held in the Oval Entertainment Area last Friday evening.

The star-studded finale  was an outstanding success. All available seats were taken and there was no standing room left to get a good view of the stage either!.

Master of Ceremonies for this fantastic event was none other than Nico Panagiotopoulus - AKA George from 7de Laan, the popular TV2 "soap". Also performing live for the capacity crowd was Llewellyn, a popular local singer.

The results of the competition are:
Winner: Loyiso Sibali (Univ. of the Witwatersrand)
1st princess: Geraldine Augustine (Univ. of PE.)
2nd princess: Michelle Geldenhuys(Univ. of Stellenbosch)
Miss Personality: Yolande Hanekom (Technikon Free State)

Miss S.A Campus 2004 Final on Fri 9 July @ the Mall

World Miss University was established in 1986 to commemorate the United Nations designated Year of Peace under the proposal of the International Association of University Presidents, an UN-Affiliated NGO. World Miss University is a celebration of beauty and intellect that strives to spread a message of love and peace throughout the world by selecting and appointing a public service delegation of outstanding female students from around the world.

For the first time, South Africa was part of the WMU contest during August 2003, in Korea. Maria Brindley, the first ever Miss S.A. Campus 2003 (crowned at East Rand Mall, the exclusive host) & RAU Rag Queen 2003, represented South Africa in Korea and came 4th.

Laurie Botha owner of Model Management was appointed by the WMU committee to run the South African leg of this competition by again hosting and selecting the best candidate, from all the contestants representing their University or Technikon, to represent South Africa at the 17th World Miss University contest to take place in Beijing, China, on the 21st of September 2004!

Prizes:
The winner of Miss S.A. Campus 2004 will win, amongst other prizes, a return air ticket to Beijing, China, to represent South Africa at the 17th WMU contest. All expenses (accommodation, all meals and transport) will be taken care of during her stay in Beijing, China!

East Rand Mall, the main sponsor, will give various prizes to all contestants. Maria Brindley, Miss S.A. Campus 2003/4, won amongst other prizes, a flat screen LG colour TV & DVD player as well as cash.

Kampusenergie, a total dedicated student related television programme on KykNET, Tuesdays at 18:00, are covering the Miss. S.A. Campus 2004 competition.


































Miss SA Campus 2003

East Rand Mall in conjunction with Model Management and Vrouekeur is proud to present the first South African
University Campus Beauty Pageant called Miss SA Campus 2003.

Ten finalists from various Universities and Technikons across the country will be competing in this, the South African "national" event.

The winner of this event  will progress to the Miss World University Pageant which will be held in Korea later this year.
